Tell Coles: Take deforestation off the shelves.
ALDI and Woolworths have recently committed to only sourcing deforestation-free beef, but Coles is lagging behind.
In Australia, an area the size of the MCG is deforested every 2 minutes. This is the scale of the deforestation crisis underway in our country. It’s a mostly unseen crisis, but one on a global scale.
As one of the biggest buyers of Australian beef, Coles must step up and commit to going deforestation-free. But they won't do it without our voices and our support.

Why we're targeting
Beef production is the number one driver of deforestation in Australia. This is causing a biodiversity crisis that is pushing native wildlife and ecological communities to the brink of extinction. If this continues, koalas could soon be locally extinct in Queensland.
Coles has the second largest share of domestic beef sales in Australia. Because of this, Coles has a huge responsibility to eliminate deforestation from its supply chain, and commit to only sourcing deforestation-free beef.
Coles is the only major supermarket in Australia without a deforestation policy - both Woolworths and ALDI have made deforestation commitments. It's time for Coles to do the same.
Australia is experiencing a deforestation crisis
And this is being driven by the beef industry.
This is killing tens of millions of native animals each year, while harming the land, polluting rivers and damaging the Great Barrier Reef.
Each year, over 440,000 hectares of forests are destroyed in Queensland alone.
As one of the biggest buyers of Aussie beef, Coles must ensure that the beef they sell is deforestation-free.
