Climate change and the Australian Government
Australia’s track record on protecting the Great Barrier Reef will again come under international scrutiny at the 41st meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Krakow, Poland, on 2-12 July 2017.
This report has been prepared in anticipation of this event. It shows how Australian Government policy has failed the Reef. Its purpose is to offer an unflinching view of the true state of one of the world’s most precious natural wonders and throw into stark relief the only way forward to give the Reef a chance at survival—a fundamental shift in climate change policy by the Australian Government.
